On the 7th of May, our lead copywriter Steve and senior Account Manager Tina flew to Nuremberg for the day to attend the SMT Connect show. Two of our clients, Speedprint and Europlacer, exhibit at the popular event in Germany and we saw it as the perfect opportunity to catch up with their key personnel from across Europe.
Setting off in the early hours (a 5.30am check-in at Stansted Airport), we spent the day getting involved around the event (and indulging in plenty of hospitality).
We had a very productive meeting with the publisher of the leading German language electronics production magazine, EPP. Additionally, we seized the opportunity to sit with the President of Speedprint (Mark Brawley) to finalise plans for the company’s brand-new website – a project being led by Ollie, our inhouse Creative Director.
We’ve already done plenty of exciting work with Speedprint, this is just another for the portfolio.
Oh, we also met with David Kammerer, who is the German Territories Sales Manager for Europlacer. He looked very happy with the Birthday cards we made for them recently. Look at that smile! Our project was to produce Birthday cards for machines that our ten years old… a first time for everything!
Rewardingly, the fantastic hospitality at German trade shows is in a league of its own. Food and refreshments are always at every corner at any event, but very few hand out beer at 10am in the morning! Of course, we weren’t complaining (although we didn’t indulge until later).
Whilst at SMT Connect, we posted several updates on our Twitter. This isn’t the first event we’ve attended this year, and it certainly won’t be the last. Make sure you’re following us to get all the latest news and updates.
